Remco Evenepoel Wins Third Consecutive Elite Men’s ITT World Title in Kigali

Remco Evenepoel of Belgium delivered a commanding performance to win his third consecutive men's individual time trial world title at the 2025 Cycling Road World Championships in Kigali, Rwanda. He completed the 40.6-kilometer course in 49:46.03, catching key rival and Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar two kilometers from the finish, ultimately leaving the Slovenian trailing by over two and a half minutes and finishing fourth. Australian Jay Vine earned the silver medal with a time of 51:00.83, while Belgian Ilan Van Wilder took bronze. The course featured multiple challenging climbs, including the Côte de Nyanza, Côte de Kimihurura, and Côte de Peage, testing the riders' endurance. Evenepoel's dominant ride demonstrated his return to top form after a difficult summer, overshadowing Pogačar's plans for a time trial and road race double at the championships. The event also highlighted strong performances from other contenders, such as Canadian Michael Leonard, who finished 12th.
