Detroit Teens Charged in Armed DoorDash Carjacking

Two Detroit teens, 18-year-old Derek Butler and a 17-year-old, have been charged with carjacking and carrying a concealed weapon after allegedly holding a DoorDash driver at gunpoint at The Lakes Apartments in Southfield, Michigan. The suspects stole the victim's 2023 Dodge Charger early Saturday morning while he was making a delivery. Police pursued the suspects in a high-speed chase exceeding 100 mph and apprehended them in Detroit, recovering a firearm from the vehicle.
