KFC Announces Major UK and Ireland Expansion

KFC has announced a £1.5 billion investment plan in the UK and Ireland over the next five years, aiming to open 500 new restaurants and upgrade more than 200 existing ones. The expansion is expected to create over 7,000 jobs across its restaurants and supply chain, including new roles such as 'guest experience lead.' KFC currently operates more than 1,000 outlets in the region and employs around 30,000 people. The investment will focus on flagship sites and drive-thrus in key areas like Ireland and the North West of England, as well as substantial spending on suppliers. Incentives will be offered to landlords who help secure new locations. The move comes amid record-high demand for fried chicken and increased competition in the UK market.
