Afghanistan Tops South Africa in Historic ODI Win

Afghanistan achieved a historic milestone by securing their first-ever ODI win against South Africa, defeating them by six wickets in Sharjah on September 18. The Afghan bowlers delivered a remarkable performance, restricting South Africa to just 106 runs, marking their joint lowest total in ODI history. Fazalhaq Farooqi was the standout bowler with figures of 4 for 35, while 17-year-old spinner Allah Ghazanfar contributed with 3 for 20. Despite losing early wickets in their chase, Afghanistan stabilized with key partnerships, particularly from Gulbadin Naib and Azmatullah Omarzai, to reach their target in 26 overs. This victory also avenged Afghanistan's previous loss to South Africa in the T20 World Cup semi-final. With this win, Afghanistan has now beaten every full-member nation in international cricket, except India.
