U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Homeland Security Investigations seized approximately 266 pounds of cocaine from a semi-truck at the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, Michigan, on August 1. The truck was driven by 42-year-old Canadian national Juli Sabosan Sathiaseelan, who has been arrested and charged with delivery of a controlled substance, with his bond set at $3 million. The seizure was the result of a collaborative investigation by the St. Clair County Drug Task Force and federal authorities. Sheriff Mat King emphasized the importance of inter-agency partnerships in combating drug trafficking. Sathiaseelan is currently detained at the St. Clair County Detention and Intervention Center, and further charges may arise as the investigation continues. An examination hearing for Sathiaseelan is scheduled for August 20.
