Oxide Computer Raises $100M Series B to Scale On-Prem Cloud Hardware
Oxide Computer Company has raised $100 million in a Series B funding round led by Thomas Tull’s US Innovative Technology Fund, with participation from all existing investors including Intel Capital. This funding more than doubles Oxide's total capital raised since its founding in 2019 and will be used to scale manufacturing, expand customer support, and accelerate product delivery to meet growing demand. Oxide offers a unified hardware and software rack-scale compute system designed to provide enterprises with hyperscaler-level cloud computing experience on-premises, focusing on enhanced security, operational agility, and control. Their flagship product, the Oxide Cloud Computer, integrates AMD Epyc processors and Intel-based switches, with custom operating systems managing hardware and networking to simplify setup and improve reliability. The company aims to eliminate the complexities and fragmentation typical of traditional data center infrastructure by delivering an end-to-end solution that mimics public cloud agility while maintaining enterprise control. Oxide’s technology and approach have attracted interest from customers such as the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, reflecting confidence in their long-term solution for on-prem cloud computing needs.
