Colombian Soccer President Arrested in Miami

Ramón Jesurún, president of the Colombian Football Federation, and his son were arrested following the Copa América final between Argentina and Colombia at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami. They were charged with three felony counts of battery on specified officials after an altercation with security personnel. The incident occurred during a chaotic event that saw ticketless fans breach security, leading to 27 arrests and 55 ejections. The match, which Argentina won 1-0, was delayed by approximately 90 minutes due to the crowd control issues. Miami-Dade Police confirmed the charges, and both Jesurún and his son remain in police custody. The Colombian soccer federation has not commented on the arrests.
