The Sims Mobile Shutdown Set for Jan. 20, 2026
Electronic Arts will delist The Sims Mobile from app stores on October 21, 2025, and will shut the game's servers on January 20, 2026 at 1:59 PM UTC, which will render the online-only game unplayable because progress is stored on EA’s servers. As of the final update players can no longer make real-money purchases; existing in-game currency may be spent before shutdown but will not be refunded. EA has enabled unlimited energy and scheduled a series of limited-time events to let players finish activities before closure. From January 6 to 20, 2026 all Build Mode and Create A Sim items will be unlocked for players. EA said the closure is part of the Sims franchise’s transition toward future projects such as Project Rene and thanked the community for its creativity and support.
