Pixar's latest animated film, Elio, will be released digitally on August 19, 2025, across platforms such as Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, and Fandango at Home, followed by physical releases—including 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD—on September 9. The film tells the story of Elio Solís, an alien-obsessed boy who is unexpectedly taken to the Communiverse and mistaken as Earth's ambassador, featuring voice talents like Yonas Kibreab, Remy Edgerly, and Zoe Saldaña. Despite receiving positive critical reviews, including an 83% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, Elio underperformed at the box office, earning $148 million against a $150-200 million budget. The home release will include extensive bonus content such as behind-the-scenes featurettes, a gag reel, deleted scenes, an astronaut Q&A with the voice actors, and an art class segment. The 4K UHD version will be available in a collectible limited edition SteelBook with special cosmic artwork, appealing to collectors. Fans who missed the theatrical release can soon enjoy the film from home, with a Disney+ streaming release expected after the physical release.
