US Schools Face Lockdowns Over Gun Scares

Several schools across the United States have experienced lockdowns due to perceived threats, all resolved without harm. In Arlington, a lockdown was lifted after it was determined a student had a plastic toy gun, not a real weapon. Twiggs County Schools were locked down due to a credible internal threat, resolved without incident. At Verplanck Elementary in Manchester, CT, a lockdown occurred when someone was seen with an air-powered pellet rifle, but no danger was posed. In Granby, CT, a lockdown was initiated after reports of a student with a weapon, but no weapon was found. Lastly, a Lake Charles school experienced a lockout as a precaution while police executed a nearby search warrant, unrelated to the school.
