Machado Sets Padres Home Run Record
Manny Machado became the San Diego Padres' all-time home run leader with his 164th homer in a 7-3 win over the Seattle Mariners. Machado's milestone two-run shot came in the sixth inning off George Kirby, giving the Padres a 5-2 lead, and he later added a two-run single in the seventh. Fernando Tatis Jr. also contributed with a three-run homer, his first since returning from injury. Yu Darvish earned his first win since May, allowing two runs over five innings, tying him with Hideo Nomo for the second-most career wins by a Japanese-born pitcher. The victory helped the Padres maintain their lead in the National League Wild Card race.
