IndiGo, India's leading airline, announced a net profit of INR299.8 crore ($372m) in the third quarter, marking a striking over 110% surge from the same period last year. The airline served 2.7 crore passengers, a 23% increase, and saw a 30.3% rise in revenue from operations to INR19,452.1 crore ($244m). Amidst the success, the airline encountered a setback as it grounded 75 planes due to Pratt & Whitney engine issues, expecting the number to increase with further inspections. Capitalising on rival SpiceJet's financial woes, IndiGo increased its market share to over 60%.
