ITV Extends Broadcasting Deal for Snooker, Darts

ITV has signed a one-year extension with Matchroom to continue broadcasting major snooker and darts events, ensuring free-to-air coverage across ITV and ITVX for the 2024/25 season. Key events to be televised include the World Snooker Tour's British Open, Champion of Champions, Players Championship, and Tour Championship, along with numerous Professional Darts Corporation events such as The Masters, UK Open, and at least seven World Series of Darts events. The Masters will see an expansion from 24 to 32 players in 2025, providing additional viewing opportunities. ITV's Director of Sport, Niall Sloane, expressed enthusiasm about the ongoing partnership, while WST and PDC officials highlighted the significance of this deal for fans. Teenage sensation Luke Littler recently won the World Series of Darts Finals, showcasing the growing popularity of the sport. This deal marks ITV's largest year of darts coverage to date.
