Historic Wedding Venue Loxley Destroyed by Fire in NSW

A historic wedding venue, Loxley on Bellbird Hill in Kurrajong Hills, New South Wales, was destroyed by a massive fire that broke out around 7pm on a Friday evening. Despite the efforts of over 80 firefighters and emergency crews, the main building was completely destroyed, with nearby structures also damaged. A 40-year-old man, who attempted to extinguish the flames before help arrived, was hospitalized with minor burns. The venue, dating back to the 1830s and featured on The Bachelorette Australia, had no functions occurring at the time, and police are investigating the cause of the fire but are not treating it as suspicious. Firefighters worked through the night to contain hotspots and prevent the fire from spreading to surrounding bushland. The loss has devastated many, including soon-to-be newlyweds, as the venue was a well-known location for weddings and special events in the Hawkesbury Valley.
