Nigeria, Tanzania Plan Direct Flights to Boost Trade, Tourism
Nigeria and Tanzania are moving towards stronger bilateral relations with plans to launch direct flights between the two countries, as discussed in a recent meeting between Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, and Tanzanian High Commission representatives led by Judica Nagunwa. The discussions emphasized that these direct flights would enhance trade, tourism, and cultural ties, with both nations expressing a commitment to collaborate on this initiative. Keyamo assured the Tanzanian delegation that the Nigerian government would facilitate the necessary regulatory processes in line with its bilateral agreements. The meeting concluded with a mutual agreement for ongoing communication between the aviation authorities of both countries to expedite approvals and operational plans. This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, aiming to expand Nigeria’s aviation frontiers and strengthen air transport links across Africa.
