NBA YoungBoy Sentenced to 27 Months in Prison

Rapper NBA YoungBoy, whose real name is Kentrell Desean Gaulden, recently appeared in Utah's 1st District Court where he accepted a plea deal related to a prescription drug fraud case, pleading no contest to multiple charges including felony identity fraud and forgery. This plea significantly reduced his original 46 charges, as he will serve a 27-month sentence stemming from a separate federal gun possession case and will also face five years of federal probation upon release. His involvement in the fraud scheme included having associates fill fake prescriptions at various pharmacies, using the names of real doctors and fake patient information. Gaulden has also been ordered to pay a $25,000 fine. Prosecutors noted this case is part of a larger investigation involving multiple jurisdictions. YoungBoy's defense attorney emphasized the plea allows for the resolution of the prescription fraud case, facilitating his transfer to federal custody.
