The National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL) has successfully installed over 175,000 noise barriers along the 87.5 km Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train corridor to mitigate noise pollution during operations. Each barrier, made of concrete, stands 2 meters high and 1 meter wide, weighing between 830 and 840 kg, and is designed to reflect and distribute noise generated by the train. In densely populated areas, barriers will be increased to 3 meters with an additional 1-meter polycarbonate component that allows light to pass through while reducing noise. Approximately 2000 barriers are installed per kilometer on either side of the viaduct, with production supported by three precast factories in Surat, Anand, and Ahmedabad. This initiative demonstrates NHSRCL's commitment to minimizing environmental impact and enhancing passenger comfort. The project continues to progress as noise reduction measures are implemented to ensure a serene travel experience.
