Superman Film Launches DCU, Eyes Franchise Future

Rachel Brosnahan, who plays Lois Lane in James Gunn's Superman film, has expressed interest in remaining part of the DC Universe for many years if the movie proves successful, reflecting the franchise's long-term ambitions. The film, set for a July 11, 2025 release, stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent and marks the launch of the new DCU. Director James Gunn confirmed that Jennifer Holland will cameo as a robot in the Fortress of Solitude, distinct from her previous DC character Emilia Harcourt. Gunn also noted that while Superman will not feature much of Krypton, the upcoming Supergirl movie will explore the planet’s history, highlighting the contrasting backgrounds of Superman and Supergirl.
