£56m Leisure Centre Complex Approved in Eastwood Park

Walton Lifestyles leisure centre is set to receive significant energy-efficient upgrades funded by a successful application to the Government's Swimming Support Fund. The project, supported by a £94,500 government contribution, aims to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs at the facility, with work expected to start imminently and run for 12 weeks. Meanwhile, East Renfrewshire's planning committee has approved plans for a new leisure centre and theatre in Eastwood Park, costing £56 million and featuring modern amenities including a swimming pool and fitness studios, with construction set to begin later this year. The new complex is anticipated to open in the second half of 2027, replacing outdated facilities. In Cramlington, a £500,000 youth facility project has been approved to provide a safe space for young people, funded by Northumberland County Council, alongside a £255,000 investment for a Dementia Garden.
