East Yorkshire Muslim Convert Convicted Planning Mustard Gas Terror Attack

Jordan Richardson, a 21-year-old Muslim convert from East Yorkshire known as the "Anglo Jihadi," has been convicted of planning a terrorist attack with potential targets including Meadowhall shopping centre near Sheffield. Prosecutors revealed he regularly expressed a wish to kill Jews and joked about entering a synagogue wearing a suicide vest. Arrested while traveling to work, Richardson was found carrying handwritten notes detailing his attack plan and instructions for making mustard gas, alongside weapons such as a crossbow and combat knife at his home. His internet history showed an affiliation with extreme Islamist ideology, including content glorifying terrorist actions and propaganda from groups like ISIS and Al-Qaeda. Although Richardson claimed his extremist behavior was a form of fantasy and escapism from depression and isolation, the court concluded he intended to carry out his jihadi fantasies in reality. He was found guilty of preparing for acts of terrorism, collecting information useful for terrorism, and distributing terrorist publications.
