CBS Announces Cast for 'Beyond the Gates'

CBS is set to premiere 'Beyond the Gates,' the first one-hour Black daytime soap opera, in early 2025, featuring Tamara Tunie, Daphnee Duplaix, and Karla Mosley as key members of the Dupree family. Tunie will portray Anita Dupree, a matriarch and former singer with a fierce spirit shaped by her humble Chicago roots. Duplaix takes on the role of Dr. Nicole Dupree Richardson, a seemingly perfect psychiatrist and philanthropist, while Mosley plays Dani Dupree, a free-spirited former model turned momager. The show, produced in partnership with the NAACP, is set in an affluent Maryland suburb and will explore the complexities and secrets of the Dupree family amidst their glamorous lifestyle. This marks the first new daytime drama since 'Passions' in 1999 and aims to highlight Black narratives in a prominent format. Production will begin this fall in Atlanta, and the series promises to unveil the intrigues of life behind the gates of wealth.
