Inglewood man brutally attacked in suspected hate crime; police seek suspect

Inglewood police are searching for a suspect who violently attacked a Latino man outside his home in what authorities are investigating as a hate crime. The victim, Javier Ibarra, was ambushed as he closed his gate, with the assailant repeatedly punching him in the head and face while yelling racial slurs, including expletives directed at Mexicans. The attacker, described as a masked man in a green tracksuit, also attempted to stab Ibarra and stole his house keys before fleeing the scene. Ibarra suffered multiple facial fractures and an eye laceration as a result of the assault. Police believe the suspect may be associated with a silver, blue, or green 2008-2012 Chevrolet Malibu with tinted rear windows and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The incident has raised concerns about racially motivated violence in the community.
