Imran Khan Indicted on Military Attack Charges

Former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has been indicted by a court in Rawalpindi, along with several associates, on charges related to inciting attacks on military and government installations in May 2023. The charges stem from riots following Khan's arrest on graft allegations, resulting in significant violence and damage to military properties, posing a serious challenge to the military's authority. Khan, who pleaded not guilty, and over 100 others face anti-terrorism charges, potentially resulting in life imprisonment. The court hearing took place at Adiala Jail, where Khan has been detained, and also included indictments for other prominent PTI leaders. An arrest warrant was issued for Khan's wife, Bushra Bibi, on separate graft charges related to the illegal sale of state gifts. The trial will continue with the next hearing scheduled for December 10.
