Milano Cortina 2026 Unveils Sustainable Olympic, Paralympic Torches in Milan, Osaka

The Milano Cortina 2026 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games unveiled their official torches during simultaneous events in Milan and Osaka on April 14. Named 'Essential,' the torches are designed with sustainability in mind, crafted from recycled aluminum with two distinct versions—blue for the Olympics and bronze for the Paralympics. Former Olympians Stefania Belmondo and Bebe Vio presented the torches, praising their elegant simplicity and ease of handling. The design, developed by Carlo Ratti Associati, emphasizes the flame while reflecting the landscapes along the relay route. The torch relay will commence in Olympia, Greece, on November 26, and travel across Italy before reaching Milan for the opening ceremony. The project showcases collaboration among various partners, highlighting both Italian design and technological innovation.
