Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to distribute sanction letters to approximately 1 million beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) and transfer the first installment of ₹3,180 crore at a national event in Odisha on September 17. Prior to this, on September 15, he will grant around 20,000 sanction letters in Jharkhand, where ₹187.79 crore has been allocated for 113,195 houses in the current financial year. The initiative aims to achieve 'Housing for All' by 2024, providing essential amenities alongside housing. Modi will also unveil the 'Awas + 2024' app to streamline house allotment for eligible beneficiaries. Additionally, the PM will visit Gujarat on September 16 to facilitate the transfer of ₹99.1 crore for 54,135 houses planned for construction in that state. The program is part of the government's broader commitment to enhancing rural housing and living conditions.
