Heliene, Origami Solar Partner for U.S.-Made Steel-Framed Modules by April 2025

Heliene Inc. has formed a multi-year partnership with Origami Solar to provide U.S.-made solar modules framed with domestic steel, starting in April 2025. This initiative comes in response to the Trump administration's recent imposition of a 25% tariff on imported steel and aluminum, which is expected to raise manufacturing costs across the board. The new steel frames are designed to be stronger and more resilient than traditional aluminum options, significantly reducing the risk of supply chain disruptions and lowering greenhouse gas emissions by over 90%. Heliene's CEO, Martin Pochtaruk, emphasized that integrating these steel frames aligns with their mission to enhance the domestic solar supply chain and offer sustainable solutions. The collaboration also aims to mitigate the cost impacts of tariffs while ensuring robust performance in extreme weather conditions.
