International Teams Intensify Myanmar Earthquake Relief Efforts
In response to the devastating 7.7-magnitude earthquake in Myanmar, international rescue efforts have intensified, with a Japanese medical team of 32 arriving in Yangon and a $6 million grant from Japan for humanitarian aid. Chinese rescue teams have been actively saving survivors and contributing temporary infrastructure in Myanmar's capital. Hong Kong has deployed a 51-member rescue team, including specialists and rescue dogs, and has donated HK$30 million for relief efforts, despite challenges posed by aftershocks and extreme temperatures. The efforts come amid a mounting death toll, now exceeding 2,700, with thousands injured and hundreds missing.
