Suspect Stabs 11 at Salem Homeless Shelter

Eleven people were injured in a stabbing at the Union Gospel Mission men's shelter in Salem, Oregon, on Sunday evening. The attack happened around 7:15 p.m. as a suspect, new to the shelter and checking in for a second night, allegedly initiated a fight with a knife from his bag. Police quickly arrested the suspect at the scene, and at least one staff member was among those wounded. All victims were transported to the hospital, but their current conditions are unknown. The incident was captured on security video, and authorities continue to investigate without disclosing a motive. The Union Gospel Mission provides overnight shelter for up to 150 homeless men.
