Google Wins Dismissal of Antitrust Lawsuit

A federal judge in California dismissed an antitrust class action against Google, ruling that there was no anticompetitive behavior as there are equal or better competitors in the mapping services market. The lawsuit, filed by Dream Big Media and others, alleged that Google restricted developers from mixing its mapping services with competitors' data. Judge Seeborg's decision was based on the failure of the plaintiffs to demonstrate Google's monopolistic practices in mapping services. Google defended its position by stating that customers cannot link Google maps to non-Google content, and the plaintiffs did not provide evidence of Google preventing such linking. The case was dismissed with prejudice, prohibiting the plaintiffs from refiling it.
