Rowan Sutton charged with Kingsbridge murder of woman, 22

Rowan Sutton, 30, from West Charleton Court, Kingsbridge, has been charged with the murder of a 22-year-old woman who died on Embankment Road in Kingsbridge, Devon, in the early hours of April 23. Despite paramedics' efforts, the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and her next of kin have been informed. Sutton appeared before Plymouth Magistrates Court and has been remanded in custody, with further hearings scheduled in the coming weeks. In connection with the same incident, a man in his 50s was also interviewed under caution on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and has been released under investigation. Police have launched a murder investigation and are continuing to support the victim’s family while urging anyone with information to come forward. Detective Superintendent Rachael Bentley thanked the community for their patience as the investigation continues.
