Lucas Bravo, who portrays Gabriel in Netflix's 'Emily in Paris,' has expressed significant dissatisfaction with the direction of his character, which has led him to reconsider his involvement in the show's upcoming fifth season. Bravo feels a disconnect from his character as Gabriel has evolved from a 'fun, cheeky' personality to a 'melancholic, sad, and lost' figure over the past seasons, which he finds unenjoyable to portray. Despite attempts to provide input on his character's development, Bravo states that the show's creative process leaves little room for actor input, as the script and emotions are tightly controlled. Bravo's contract with the series ends after Season 4, and he is contemplating whether to return given his frustrations. Nonetheless, he acknowledges the show’s role in his career, saying he loves the series and its people, even as he desires a return to a more dynamic character portrayal. Netflix has renewed 'Emily in Paris' for a fifth season, with filming expected to begin in 2025.
