Baltimore Orioles catcher Adley Rutschman was placed on the 10-day injured list due to a strained left oblique, marking the first time in his career he has been sidelined. The injury was identified after Rutschman experienced abdominal tightness during batting practice and underwent an MRI. While Rutschman, who is hitting .227 with eight home runs this season, recovers, the Orioles have recalled Maverick Handley from Triple-A Norfolk to serve as backup catcher to Gary Sánchez.
