Ravens Add John Jenkins to Defensive Line
The Baltimore Ravens have signed veteran defensive tackle John Jenkins to a one-year contract, following Michael Pierce's retirement. Jenkins, now entering his 13th NFL season and seventh team, started all 34 games over the past two seasons with the Las Vegas Raiders, amassing 107 tackles, two sacks, six pass breakups, and a 44-yard fumble recovery for a touchdown. Drafted by the New Orleans Saints in 2013, Jenkins is expected to play a rotational role behind starters Nnamdi Madubuike, Travis Jones, and Broderick Washington. The move creates $745,000 in immediate salary cap relief for Baltimore, with an additional $1.255 million after June 1. Baltimore opens its preseason on August 7 against the Colts and starts the regular season versus the Buffalo Bills. Jenkins' signing provides experienced depth and strengthens the Ravens' interior defensive line.
