Steelers vs Vikings in NFL's Dublin Debut
On September 28 the NFL will stage its first regular-season game in Ireland, with the Pittsburgh Steelers hosting the Minnesota Vikings at Dublin’s sold-out Croke Park, a historic venue with roughly 82,000 capacity. The match is the centerpiece of a week-long fan festival that includes an NFL Experience, a Super Bowl Gallery and team tailgates, and thousands of visiting fans have filled the city with watch parties and team paraphernalia. The Rooney family’s Irish roots and Croke Park’s cultural history have added emotional weight to the event, and the Irish government has invested €10 million expecting economic returns. On the field, the Vikings are getting wide receiver Jordan Addison back and will start Carson Wentz, while the Steelers are led by quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Reporting that the Steelers wanted to arrive earlier was disputed by the NFL, which said each team sets its travel timing, and U.S. and Irish media are framing the game as a historic international moment for the league.
