Tray Chaney, Son Injured in EF-2 Georgia Tornado

Tray Chaney, known for his role on HBO’s The Wire, and his 18-year-old son Malachi were severely injured when an EF-2 tornado destroyed their Henry County, Georgia home on Thursday. Malachi was thrown approximately 300 feet and found unconscious in a wooded area, suffering broken ribs and a fractured facial bone; he remains hospitalized in stable but slow recovery. The tornado struck with little warning, damaging at least 13 structures and completely destroying two homes, including the Chaney residence. Neighbors were instrumental in helping locate Malachi after the storm, and the community has rallied with a successful fundraising effort. Chaney has described the experience as traumatic, expressing gratitude for survival while noting emotional scars and the total loss of their possessions. He has urged others to cherish life as his family and the community begin to recover.
