James Earl Jones, the iconic actor known for his powerful voice as Darth Vader in 'Star Wars' and Mufasa in 'The Lion King', passed away at the age of 93 at his home in Dutchess County, New York. Over an eight-decade career, he received numerous accolades, including two Tony Awards, two Emmy Awards, a Grammy, and an honorary Academy Award. Born in Mississippi in 1931, Jones initially faced challenges with a stutter but overcame them to become a celebrated performer on both stage and screen. His voice lent depth to some of cinema's most memorable characters and he reprised his roles in various sequels and adaptations. Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, praised Jones for his commanding presence and the lasting impact he had on generations of audiences. Jones is survived by his family, following the passing of his wife Cecilia Hart in 2016.
