Texas Inmate Jesus Villareal Captured in Calallen

Jesus Villarreal, a 39-year-old inmate serving a 63-year sentence for multiple violent offenses, escaped from the Huntsville Prison Unit and was captured in Calallen, near Corpus Christi, after a statewide search. Villarreal, who fled in a stolen maroon Chevy Malibu, was apprehended within hours of his escape. A woman was also arrested for hindering his capture. Villarreal now faces additional felony escape charges. Authorities have credited the swift response of law enforcement for his quick recapture and are urging anyone with further information to contact the Texas Department of Criminal Justice.
