India Backs KL Rahul Ahead of Tests

India is backing senior batsman K.L. Rahul to regain his form ahead of a demanding schedule of nine Tests in four months, starting with the second Test against Bangladesh in Kanpur. After India secured a 280-run victory in the first Test, Rahul's performance included scores of 16 and 22 not out, marking his return after a thigh injury sidelined him for several months. Although his last century was in December 2023, assistant coach Abhishek Nayar expressed confidence in Rahul's abilities, highlighting glimpses of his potential during the first Test. India's upcoming matches include three Tests against New Zealand starting October 16, followed by a five-Test series in Australia. Nayar emphasized the coaching team's role in supporting Rahul through his current challenges, as they aim for a turnaround in his performance.
