Geely Aims for 5 Million Annual Car Sales by 2027

Geely Automobile Holdings has set an ambitious target to sell over 5 million vehicles annually by 2027, representing a nearly 80% increase from its 2023 sales of 2.79 million units. To achieve this, Geely plans to consolidate its brands into two main divisions: Geely Auto for mass-market vehicles and Zeekr Technology for premium offerings. The company reported 2024 sales of 2.17 million units, a 32% year-on-year increase, with significant growth in international markets and new energy vehicles (NEVs), which accounted for 53% of December sales. Geely aims for NEV sales to reach 1.5 million units in 2025, reflecting a 69% increase from 2024. The restructuring, led by Eric Li, includes aligning R&D across key technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce redundancy. This strategic shift also marks Geely's return to focusing on its core automotive business after diversifying into other sectors in recent years.
