Utah Hockey Club Sees 34,000 Ticket Deposits

The Utah Jazz have established themselves as a cornerstone of Salt Lake City's sports culture, consistently drawing sellout crowds despite recent years of rebuilding. The recent introduction of the Utah Hockey Club, formerly the Arizona Coyotes, has generated significant excitement, with over 34,000 season-ticket deposits made in just 48 hours, 63% of whom are new to arena events. This influx indicates a burgeoning fan base, which Chris Barney from Smith Entertainment Group is optimistic about nurturing. The Jazz, known for their successful youth program Junior Jazz, aim to inspire similar growth in hockey through community engagement. Meanwhile, the Utah Outliers junior team, which has seen recent success, plans to expand its programs and facilities to capitalize on the NHL's presence in the area. Outliers coach Paul Taylor believes that the new NHL team will spark greater interest in hockey among young athletes, potentially shifting their sports preferences.
