FDA Seizes ₹14.35 Lakh in Food Drive
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Pune has conducted extensive inspections during the Ganeshotsav festival, resulting in the seizure of food items worth ₹14.35 lakh due to suspected adulteration. A total of 101 establishments were inspected, with 117 samples collected for analysis, including milk, khoya, paneer, and ghee. Specific seizures included ₹5.16 lakh worth of products in Pune district and ₹9.19 lakh in the wider Pune division. Joint Commissioner Suresh Annapure emphasized the importance of food safety during the festival and urged citizens to report any suspicions of adulteration. Legal action will follow based on laboratory results from the samples taken. The FDA aims to maintain high food quality standards during this significant public event.
