BBC Mammoth Comedy Returns for Acclaimed Series 2 with Christmas Special

The BBC comedy series "Mammoth," starring Mike Bubbins as Tony Mammoth, a 1970s PE teacher who mysteriously returns to life after being presumed dead since 1979, is set to return for a second season on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer. The first series was highly successful, ranking as the fourth highest-performing new comedy across all BBC platforms in 2024 and surpassing the BBC Two comedy primetime benchmark by 28%. The new season will feature returning cast members including Sian Gibson as Tony's daughter Mel, Joel Davison as Mel's son Theo, Joseph Marcell as Tony's best friend Roger who now becomes his fitness trainer, and John Weldon as Headteacher Mr. Cowley. New additions to the cast include Al Roberts as Mel's new love interest Michael and Dylan Malyn as Nathan, Mel's nephew and new boss. The series, produced by BBC Studios Comedy and co-written by Mike Bubbins, Paul Doolan, and Luke Mason, will also include a Christmas special and continues to blend humor with heartfelt moments. The title music for the show is composed by Mike Post, known for iconic TV themes such as The Rockford Files and Magnum P.I.
