Montgomery Police Arrest Suspect in 1995 Killing of DC Officer

Nearly 30 years after the 1995 murder of Denna Fredericka Campbell, a 24-year-old off-duty Metropolitan Police Department officer, Montgomery County Police have arrested her live-in boyfriend, Kenneth Burnell Wonsom, now known as Amir Jalil Ali, charging him with first-degree murder. Wonsom was initially charged in 1995 but the charges were dropped two months later for reasons not publicly disclosed. Campbell was found shot in her White Oak, Maryland apartment, with her police-issued service weapon missing. Witnesses reported hearing gunshots around the time Wonsom claimed to have left the apartment, and Campbell had confided to friends that she was scared of him and wanted to move out.
