Two Arrested in Child Pornography Operation

In a coordinated operation involving the South African Police Service (SAPS), the FBI, and the Department of Homeland Security, two individuals were arrested in Gauteng for serious sexual offenses against minors. A 49-year-old man was apprehended for grooming and raping his girlfriend’s 15-year-old daughter in Vanderbijlpark, while a former teacher, aged 41, was arrested in Pretoria for exposing boys aged 10 to 12 to adult pornography and engaging in sexual grooming. The arrests were made following tips from an international hotline, leading to the seizure of multiple electronic devices suspected to contain child pornography. So far, three victims have been identified, with six more potentially unaccounted for. Both suspects are set to appear in court, and the state is expected to oppose bail. This operation has been recognized positively by the community, calling for continued vigilant action against such crimes.
