Prime Video Renews Benito Skinner Comedy Overcompensating for Season 2

Amazon Prime Video has officially renewed the comedy-drama series Overcompensating for a second season following its successful debut, which received a 93% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and positive critical acclaim. Created, written, and executive-produced by Benito Skinner, who also stars as the lead character Benny, the show follows the life of a closeted former football player navigating college, with a supporting cast including Wally Baram, Mary Beth Barone, Adam DiMarco, and Rish Shah. Prime Video's global head of television, Vernon Sanders, expressed excitement about continuing to work with A24, Strong Baby, and Amazon MGM Studios on the series and praised Skinner's bold storytelling. The renewal was enthusiastically welcomed by Skinner, who thanked fans for their support and looks forward to returning to the show's setting of Yates University. Season 2 will continue to explore the complex relationships and challenges faced by the characters, following the cliffhanger ending of Season 1. While no premiere date has been announced, the new season is expected to arrive in 2026.
