African Leaders Unite at G20, Prioritize Global South Issues

South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has called for unity among G-20 nations to address critical global issues such as geopolitical tensions, climate change, and food insecurity at a foreign ministers' meeting in Johannesburg. He emphasized that inclusive and coordinated responses are essential, highlighting the current lack of consensus among major powers. Meanwhile, India's External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar will participate in the G20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, aiming to enhance India's engagement and amplify the voice of the Global South within the forum. This comes as South Africa, which holds the G20 presidency, seeks to address global challenges effectively. Additionally, the recent African Union Summit focused on issues of self-reliance and historical injustices, pushing for equality in global governance and emphasizing the need for reparations. UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres reiterated the importance of addressing these enduring injustices during the summit.
