Myrtle Beach Airport Records 3.8 Million Passengers

In 2024, Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) experienced a record-breaking year with more than 3.8 million passengers, marking a 14% increase from the previous year. This achievement is attributed to the airport's air service development strategy and collaboration with the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce, which included welcoming new airlines like Breeze Airways and expanding routes with existing partners. The airport is in the midst of a $90 million terminal expansion project aimed at further enhancing its capacity and amenities. This growth trend is part of a larger pattern seen across South Carolina's major airports, which also saw significant increases in passenger numbers, including Charleston International Airport. Judi Olmstead, the director of airports for Horry County, highlighted the dedication of the airport team and airline partners in achieving these milestones.
