Multiple U.S. Schools Locked Down After Threats
Several schools across the United States were placed on lockdown this week due to various security threats, most of which were precautionary and resolved without injuries. In Aurora, Colorado, East Middle School was locked down after reports of nearby gunshots, but no threat was found. Two schools in Manitowoc, Wisconsin, also locked down after an armed individual was reported, though police found no credible threat. Lehi High School in Utah enacted a lockdown after a firearm was found in a car near campus, and in Memphis, Tennessee, Riverview Middle School was briefly locked down following an off-campus shooting with no injuries. Additional incidents included a prank 'swatting' call in Jackson, Michigan, and a weapon confiscated from a student at Lowe's Grove Middle School in Durham, North Carolina. Authorities reiterated that student and staff safety remains a top priority.
