Mark Latham Escorted From Randwick Over Membership Rule

Controversial former Labor leader and independent NSW MP Mark Latham was escorted out of Royal Randwick Racecourse’s Grandview Restaurant by police during Epsom Day after management asked him to leave and he refused, with photos showing officers flanking him as they led him off the premises. The Australian Turf Club has implemented a new guest‑pass restriction barring anyone suspended, terminated, or who resigned membership while under a disciplinary process — a rule described in reporting as specifically aimed at Latham — and management says it contacted police to enforce it. Latham had resigned his ATC membership earlier this year after being placed on a 12‑month good‑behaviour bond over an alleged on‑course tirade at club executive Steve McMahon, which the club says disqualified him from entry. Latham says he was attending as a guest of a member, accused the club of revenge over his campaign against the proposed $5 billion sale of Rosehill Gardens, and has threatened legal action.
