Sylvester Stallone drops out

Sylvester Stallone will not reprise his role in the reboot of the 1993 action classic Cliffhanger, as production has begun in Austria with Lily James and Pierce Brosnan now leading the cast. The film, directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, has undergone significant creative changes, including a new story by Ana Lily Amirpour, shifting from the original script by Mark Bianculli. Brosnan plays Ray Cooper, a seasoned mountaineer, while James portrays his daughter, Naomi, who must confront her fears to save her family from kidnappers. The project was initially announced with Stallone attached but has since evolved, losing its original director and star. Filming is currently taking place in the Dolomites, with no release date set yet. The supporting cast includes Nell Tiger Free, Franz Rogowski, Shubham Saraf, Assaad Bouab, Suzy Bemba, and Bruno Gouery.
